They are a one-shot device. Even though it seems like a step backward in technology they have fired 100% over several thousand shots. These are inert, as far as, they do not carry any energetic materials like a normal electric detonator would. They are unregulated for shipping and storage. These appear to be much safer than an electric det. These also work great to much lower temperatures around -30C compared to the MK4 tip at 0C
