Detonator Containment Unit (8C) reduces the UN Hazard Classification and compatibility group from 1.1B to 1.4S*, improving safety when storing and transporting electric and non-electric detonators. The unit also provides over seven minutes of protection before the first detonator initiates in a fuel fire.
(* Tested in Accordance with UN Series 6 (c) and (d) tests, conducted for specific detonators only. Tested with L2 A2 electric detonator with an NEQ 1.49 grams for each chamber.)
Each of the eight chambers is designed to accommodate up to 3 x detonators, providing safe capacity for a total of 24 detonators.
Widely used by NATO, military personnel, EOD teams worldwide, and de-mining companies, it also has applications in demolition, quarrying, and construction.
