The GS-10 is a low power intrusion sensor housed in a compact, rugged case, which facilitates storage, transportation, and concealment. This unit is ideal for long-term deployment ranging from 3 months to 1 year or longer, depending on configuration. The watertight and corrosion-proof enclosure may be deployed above ground or buried for security. Only the antenna needs to be above ground for proper operation.
The GS-10 Sensor communicates alarm information using a linear 5-Watt radio. Pre-selected frequencies in the VHF band penetrate foliage better than unlicensed radios at higher frequencies. Internal seismic and magnetic sensors detect pedestrian movements and directional vehicle traffic.
Additional features for the GS-10 include an internal tamper switch and internal relay, which is used to trigger external equipment. Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors as well as a simple electrical contact closures are also supported.
Programmable self-test messages are used to convey the status of each sensor including battery level. A real-time clock allows configuration to specify periods of access or to inhibit alarms, which conserves battery life. The sensor is programmed using a user-friendly hand held GS-30 or computer. Configurable features include address (1-9999), frequency, output power, sensor sensitivity, and power management.
The GS-10 Sensor can work as a stand-alone sensor or be part of a turnkey networked system. Using Smart Technology, the GS-10 can be programmed to function in a Coyote/Cub configuration, allowing one GS-10 sensor (Coyote) to monitor and relay messages from multiple GS-10 sensors (Cubs). This is ideal for monitoring valleys, tunnels, or deep canyons.
