Miller® Relief Step™ Safety Device relieves the effects of orthostatic intolerance called suspension trauma. Small as well as lightweight safety device can be attached to any full-body harness and offers a short-term solution to prevent suspension trauma. It gives support while enhancing blood circulation until rescue and allows the user to move as well as flex leg muscles. When a fall occurs, a person becomes suspended in a harness and stays both vertical and sedentary for some time, causing blood to 'pool' in the veins of the legs and blood flow is restricted to the brain as well as other major organs that may initially lead to unconsciousness. If person is not rescued promptly, serious injury or death may occur. OSHA states that potentially fatal suspension trauma can occur within minutes while waiting for rescue after a fall, average fall rescue time is 15 min.
