Capacity: Straight Series: 80 - 2 Ohm Electric Blasting Caps Series Parallel: 2 Series of 40 - 2 Ohm Electric Blasting Caps
Operating: TO TEST: Before connecting to blasting circuit; depress "CHARGE" switch until "READY" light illuminates. While maintaining pressure on "Charge" switch depress "DETONATE" switch. "READY" light should go off immediately.
Caution: Do NOT relax "Charge" switch when depressing "Detonate" switch. The L450-4J utilizes a dual switch firing mechanism to assure the blaster's conviction to detonate.
When "READY" light fails to illuminate replace the 9V Alkaline Cell under battery cap on right side of machine. Observe cap position when replacing cap so as not to cross thread.
TO OPERATE: Connect machine to the blasting circuit and repeat "CHARGE" and "DETONATE" sequence as in "TO TEST."
Handling/Care: To maintain the proper functionality of your Scorpion L450-4J Blasting unit please observe the following:
a. Avoid severe impact. The L450-4J is impact resistant however severe localized or blunt impact could crack and/or breach the L450-4J's casing. NEVER USE THIS UNIT IF ITS CASE IS CRACKED OR BREACHED. b. Avoid wrenching, impacting, or over-tightening binding posts. Should this happen to the binding posts the protective plastic shielding may become damaged or removed. SHOCK HAZARD: If the protective plastic shielding is removed from one or both of the binding posts potentially lethal voltage exists to a grounded blaster should contact be made with the exposed binding post at discharge. See Section V - Servicing for maintenance and repair information. c. After daily use clear debris and/or dust from in and around switches and binding posts and store it in a safe and dry environment. d. NEVER use your L450-4J as a lever or impact device. e. NEVER use your L450-4J as an alternate energy source on equipment for which it was not designed. f. Output oscillograms are recorded on every machine by the manufacturer. If you need a copy of these test traces contact E.I.T. Corporation at (717) 286-7744. For annual or biannual maintenance programs: Testing and output traces are available by the manufacturer. g. NEVER USE A DAMAGED OR QUESTIONABLE MACHINE.
All blasting machine purchases will require an End User Certificate (PDF) and you may also be asked for a copy of your credentials, if not already on file.
